Chemical Peel – Before & After Care

Before Your Chemical Peel

Please follow these guidelines for at least 4–7 days before your appointment:

  • Avoid the sun and tanning beds for at least 1 week before your treatment. Sun exposure increases sensitivity and the risk of complications.

  • 🚫 Stop using all active skincare ingredients like retinol, tretinoin, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, AHAs, BHAs, and benzoyl peroxide at least 4 days before treatment.

  • 🧴 Avoid facial waxing, laser treatments, or exfoliating scrubs for 7 days before.

  • 💧 Keep your skin well-hydrated and moisturized leading up to your peel.

  • 😌 Come with clean skin—no makeup, SPF, or heavy products.

  • 🩺 Let us know if you’re using Accutane, antibiotics, or have had recent cosmetic treatments (injectables, microneedling, etc.).

After Your Chemical Peel

Your skin is in recovery mode—treat it like royalty! Follow these tips to avoid irritation and help your skin heal:

  • ⛱️ Avoid sun exposure for at least 1 week after your peel. Always wear SPF 30+ and reapply throughout the day.

  • 🚫 No active skincare ingredients (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, etc.) for 4–7 days post-treatment or until peeling stops.

  • 🧖‍♀️ Do not pick, scratch, or peel flaking skin—this can lead to scarring and uneven results.

  • 🧴 Use only the gentle cleanser and moisturizer recommended by your esthetician.

  • 🥵 Avoid heat: no steam rooms, saunas, hot showers, or intense workouts for 48–72 hours.

  • 💄 Avoid makeup for 24–48 hours, or until your skin feels calm.

  • 💤 Sleep on a clean pillowcase and avoid resting your face on your hands.

  • 📅 Schedule follow-up treatments or check-ins as recommended.
